A connection I had to this book is a text to text connection. When Mrs. Ridgeley tells Casey that she can keep Storm at Hopeless Lane if Mrs. Ridgeley doesn't have to pay any bills for him it reminded me if when in Shadow Horse Ms. Hahn tells Jas that she can keep shadow if Jas is able to take care of him and he won't be any trouble at the stable. Those two events were my text to text connection.
I think the themes of this book are patience, hard decisions, sort of money problems and romance. I think one theme is money problems because Casey doesn't have enough money to properly take care of Storm so she has to let Mrs. Ridgeley use him as a school horse every week from Monday to Friday. Another theme is romance because Casey is attracted to "the boy with dark melty eyes". The main theme is patience because Casey has to have a lot of patience with Storm to be able to train him properly.
A transformed thought I had was at the beginning I thought that Storm would be a lot of trouble and Casey would end up selling him or Casey wouldn't have enough money to feed Storm. After I've read a little of the book, I realized that Storm and Casey ends up having a great relationship and Casey deals with the money problems.
In conclusion, this is a super good book and I think that you should definitely give this book a try! Also, a bonus is that the sides of the book pages are neon pink. You should totally read this book!
