Maddie's blog #6

I have read a book called The Invention of Hugo Cabret. It is a book that tells a lot of the story in pictures, but it still takes along time to read. It was written by Brian Selznick. I think it a good book because it is interesting how the characters react to the situation.

When Hugo was all alone in his room and he was hungry, he went and stole a bottle of milk and some croissants. This reminded me of the time I was hungry and in bed in the morning, so I went downstairs  and took a bowl of cereal. That is not really stealing but still. This helped me understand how much Hugo needs to steal that food.

My transformed thoughts are that I thought in the beginning is that the automaton was going to write a poem or something but it drew a picture and signed a name. I also thought that Isabelle's key had no importance, but it fits into the automaton perfectly.

I think the themes are FRIENDSHIP between Hugo and Isabelle through out the book, and how he and Papa Georges become friends in the end. IMAGINATION of Hugo and the person who made it to go and find all the right parts and to take the time to put it together.

As you can see it is a great book and I think you should read it. I love it because of the beautiful drawings. Thanks for reading!
