Gina's blog #6

Introduction:
This week the book I am reading is called The Garbage King by: Elizabeth Laird. The Garbage king is about A boy named Mamo. Mamo also has a sister named Tiggist. Mamo and Tiggist live in a shack. They are poor and they have no food, or parents. Their Mother just recently died. They have no money and they might be kicked out of their shack. Mamo and Tiggist might be evicted from the shack because they don’t have enough money to pay for rent. Mamo gets kidnapped by someone named Merga. Merga claims to be Mamo’s Uncle. Mamo gets introduced to a rich boy named Dani.

Connection:
I connect to the part when they talk about Mamo and Tiggist being without parents, or food. I watched a movie about two siblings whose parents got kidnapped. The movie was based on two siblings who had lots of money and their family was happy. One day they got home from school and their parents were not there. They looked everywhere, but their parents could not be found. They went from having a very rich life to living without any food, or parents. They also lost their house.

Novel’s Theme:
The theme of the story is to be grateful for everything that you have. One minute you can have it all and the next minute it can all be taken away from you. Sometimes the simple things in life are the most special. We should thank our parents for everything that they provide us with. That’s why it is our responsibility to help people that are less fortunate than us. Some people can’t go to school now because their teachers are going on strike. The Government is not giving the schools enough money to upgrade the schools. That’s why we should take time to look at all of the great things that we have in our life.

Transformed Thoughts:
The book provides us with lots of examples of how relationships can change. Sometimes things happen and they are not things we can control. I didn’t know that the book would get as interesting as it did. I didn’t know if I would like the book at the beginning. As I kept reading I couldn’t stop. It has such great cliffhangers. It’s a great book. I recommend this book to anyone that likes more adventurous books.

Conclusion:
This book was very interesting. A good type of interesting. It’s very adventurous. The characters face some challenges and obstacles throughout the book. It has big cliffhangers. Once I started reading the book I couldn’t stop reading it. I really liked it. It had great detail and description.
