Hi, are you looking for a good book to read, but can't find one? well, consider Roof Toppers. Roof Toppers is a book about an orphan named Sophie that sets of on a quest to find her long lost mother, who apparently didn't sink with the ship Sophie was on. I have not finished the book, (I have barely started the 2nd chapter) but I love it already. I can not wait to read on!
My thoughts on the book so far are that it will be an exciting and mysterious read. Exciting because she sets of on and adventure and mysterious because she doesn't know who her mother is. The book is a good read and has great word choice.
A connection I have made to the book is text to self because the story right now is placed in London where we are going for vacation this summer and on the cover Sophie and a boy (you find out bout him later) are sitting on a roof, with the Eiffel Tower in the back round witch means she somehow went to France, where I went for summer vacation once.
One of the themes of the book is adoption because Sophie is adopted by a Man named Charles Maxim, bookworm that doesn't seem to mind he "can't raise a 1 year old baby girl without a woman". ( Let's face it, he doesn't care.) Another theme I think, might be jealousy because a woman from The child care place was being very strict about how this adoption was TEMPORARY because he didn't adopt her he more found her. She could be jealous a lonely man has a child and she has nothing, ( a possibility) or she could just be doing her job.
I don't really have transformed thoughts because I just got the book yesterday from my tutor, but at first 9 by judging the cover) I thought thought the book would be about two friends that are poor and have to live on roofs ( like the boy Fernando from Rio) but turns out, my idea was NOTHING like the book. Lesson learned, don't judge a book by it's cover.
This book is off to a great start! I can not wait to read more, until next time au revoir!
