"Swords slashed. Bayonets jabbed. Nothing touched me." Sounds awesome right? WRONG!! It is awesome! This book is by Rick Riordan, called The Last Olympian. This book was full of intense action and Titans and sadly, fighting. Though awesome fighting! I liked this book because it had such unique characters and it's theme was learning to let go of someone or the past.
I figured a theme of this book would be learning to let go because Annebeth, used to have crush and admire her old friend Luke. (Not old, just an old used to be friend character.) Turns out, in the first book, (SPOILER ALERT) Luke is evil, dun dun duuunnn!!! Now Annebeth has to learn to have the will to defeat him in combat because he was controlled by Kronos, an evil Titan lord. In the end, it was Luke himself who separated his soul from his body and defeated Kronos.
I had a connection to this because when Hades's son, Nico tricked Percy into going with him in exchange for information (he did't mean to hurt him.) It was like when this boy, Connor, (who tried and failed to hold my hand after he confessed he liked me -bleh!- ) was it for a game of tag and tried to lure us in to get caught by saying he had something to tell us and I yelled he's lying so then he didn't tag us-Yay!-.
Wow, now that I think about this, this is more of a trust kind of book than an letting go one. Rachel has to trust Chiron to transfer a oracle into her body and Percy had to trust Ethan to help him. Huh.
Now that you know how awesome this book is, check it out!
