Blog #3

I'm reading the most amazing book called 'Princess of Glass' by Jessica day George about a maid, a princess, a Prince and a royal family and magic. It's so suspenseful I could barely stand to put it down.

*SPOILER ALERT*

I connected to when Ellen was at the balls and had glass slippers and a godmother who provided her with a gown, shoes, and a suitor for her to marry. This reminds me of Cinderella when her godmother gets her from a plain maid to the belle of the ball and makes all the princes immediately fall in love with her and gets her glass slippers and makes her come home before midnight.
*SPOILER ALERT OVER*

I think the themes are Magic because the Corley has magic, Friendship because Roger and Poppy bond over trying to save Ellen from the Corley and when they make the bracelets and the potion to save Dickon and Christian and Marianne from the Corley's magic to make everyone like Lady Ella, Romance because The Corley makes Ellen Lady Ella and tries to force her to marry Prince Christian when Christian only liked her because he was under a spell and when he wasn't under a spell he actually loved Poppy and Roger liked Ellen and Dickon liked Marianne.

At first I thought that Lord Richard was helping the Corley but as I read on I realized that he was helping to lock the Corley in her village. At first I felt like Dickon was mean and wanted Marianne solely so that he could have more power and money but then I realized that he liked her just the way she was and loved her because she was nice and kind.

This is a deliciously good book. If you ever get the chance to read this book you should totally read it. By the way there are other books in the series (this is the #2 book)

#1 Princess of the Midnight Ball
#2 Princess of Glass
#3 Princess of the Silver Woods
