Before I start my blog I have something very important to say, and that is that this blog is a big spoiler, in some places so I’ll give you a warning first. Anyways, If you are looking for a fun and adventurous book series try, the birthday series. The birthday series is about birthdays that are extra special, like on your birthday you have to go back in time. I’m on the last book in the series and it is called The Last Present.It is by Wendy Mass, my favourite author! So far my book is fantastic, there is so many surprises that pop up and the book makes me think of questions that they almost answer but don’t so it makes me want to read on and on and on! There are so many things about this book that is great but I’m going to tell you some of my connections. Before I tell you my connection, I have to give out a big spoiler alert sign! Anyways one of my connections I have is when in the book Amanda and Leo go back in time to fix something and that something is when Conner, Graces brother blows out her birthday candles on her cake for some odd reason and Amanda and Leo have to try to make Conner not blow the candles out. They do that by getting fake candles so he can’t blow them out and Grace can but it takes her a lot of time to blow them all out. That reminds me when on one of my birthdays when I was about five or six, I couldn’t blow any of the candles out and it took me about nine to ten try’s to blow them all out. Now I’m going to tell you about some of the themes in the book. One of the big themes is friends, because a group of friends(the main characters) have dealt with the same thing about their birthdays and something weird has happened to all of them and some of them have had the same day over again, and some have special powers that are still normal in a way.. Another theme is time travel, and Amanda and Leo go time traveling to help a girl named Grace not get paralyzed on her tenth birthday.. One of my favourite theme and most obvious one is, birthdays, because it is all about birthdays, and how huge spoiler alert Angelina D’angelo makes a lot of birthdays go wrong. When I first started this book I thought it was all about a different girl or boy who had a problem with their birthday, because of Angelina, and that boy or girl will get the help of the group of friends and they will fix what's wrong. Now that I’ve been reading it I realized that it was about Amanda and Leo helping Grace. Amanda and Leo were the main characters of eleven birthdays and that is about how their birthday goes on and on and the day after their birthday doesn’t come until they fix what they did wrong and do helpful things for their family and friends. It is also about how Amanda has to get through her dreadful costume party and school in general, and the problems she has to face. After I said all of this I really hope you try reading this book series, and if you read it I Know you will absolutely love it and finish the whole series really fast because it is one of those books where if you read the first one you have to read the next and next and next one until you finish the series. I really hope you try this book series by Wendy Mass, just remember the first book is Eleven Birthdays, the second is 12 Finally, the third is Thirteen Gifts and last but not least the last book, The Last Present.
