Ellen's reading intro

    Hello, my name's Ellen and welcome to my blog. This blog is somewhere you can comment as you please (hopefully politely :] ) and even learn about great books that I have read and recommend. First of all, you should probably know that I love reading fantasy books because I sometimes feel that you can just escape into an entirely different world and that you can strip yourself of worries. Also, sometimes I like to read books where the main character lives a life like mine. (young girl, school, craves adventure, friends, etc) and  I like seeing the writers point of view for a young girl like me when they are actually already adults. Coming from me, a little girls life I can probably relate to. Occasionally, my parents urge me to read a non-fiction book with lots of facts and history so I may extend my education. Luckily, I can read at school. If I could, I would definitely read all day, I've tried on weekends, but my parents have always caught me and always send me off to do  homework or such. Though before I was allowed an hour of reading, those were the good old times :).

    I feel reading on a daily basis has become a part of me and I feel alone when not able to. I especially like books with Dragons though I'm not sure why. I have long acquired the habit of reading when feeling down or angry at something or some one. Reading always seems to clear my head after making a wrong decision. I enjoy quiet places where I can read in peace and relax without being constantly pestered. Some of my favorite books are; as I said before, Eragon and Harry Potter series, Wonder, Out of my mind, Icefire series, Tiger's curse series, and Echo's and Embers series. My first book was when when I was one and my parents read a short story book to me in Chinese. My first chapter book was when I was four. It was 60 pages and I was excited to read more. I presume reading is my favorite hobby as it is for many others. Once I finished 6 thick over 200 page chapter book in one day! it was really fun!  My parents got really mad :). Sometimes I even write my own stories but I never got the chance to finish them. My favorite series of all time I think would either be Eragon, Harry potter, or Sea of Trolls. They're all fantasy books though. I do have a favorite  non-fiction book, it's on famous scientists of the past, like Galileo, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein and so on. I could write a page about them but I wouldn't want to bore you. If you've guessed what I like to do you're probably right, READING!!!!!
