Cornelia and the Audacious Escapades of the Somerset Sisters
I have read this book many times and I love it. It is a bunch of stories in a story. The author is Lesley M.M. Blume and her ideas are amazing! I love how the book flows from chapter to chapter. I like this book because it is always exciting and interesting.
I think the themes of this book are STORYTELLING, FRIENDSHIP, and SHARING. I think one of the themes is STORYTELLING because Virginia is telling Cornelia all these wonderful stories. Also FRIENDSHIP, because Cornelia and Virginia form a beautiful friendship over the time they spend together. SHARING because Virginia is sharing her memories of her sisters with Cornelia.
My connection is text/self. When Virginia is telling Cornelia about the great times she had with her sisters, it reminds me of how my Nana tells me stories about her childhood and growing up in Seattle. I made this connection by thinking of all the great stories that she tells. This connection helps realize how much Cornelia loves the storytelling.
My transformed thoughts are how I thought that Virginia would be in the whole book but she is not. She dies from cancer before the book ends. I also thought that Cornelia would not find a friend before the end but she does and they get along so nicely. They use Virginia's stories as games and act them out together.
As you can tell I love this book a lot and it is amazing. I hope some of you read it in the future and love it as much as I did! It may look boring but remember, never judge a book by its cover!
