I have read a book called The Lemonade War, it is written by Jacqueline Davies. I have read it about five times now. We read this book as a novel study in grade 4 and it was a very fun book to read. Even if we only read it in small sections......
I think that the themes are SIBLING RIVALRY, BUSINESS MANAGING. I think one of the themes is SIBLING RIVALRY because the rival against each other so that is most likely a theme. One of the themes is BUSINESS MANAGING because you have to learn how to manage a business to run a successful lemonade stand in the heat of summer.
My connection is text to self. When Evan and Jessie start the war, it reminds me of sports day. You play to win, and that's all that seems to matter to the players. This connection helps me feel the pressure they felt to be better then the other person.
My transformed thoughts are I thought that they would both tie with $100, but it turned out that Jessie really won (by 89 cents!). I also thought that Evan would be nicer about it, but he was kind of mean. He would not let his friend invite her along to go for a bike ride.
I think this was and still is a very good book. So I recommend it but lots of people have read it so don't be forced to go and read it again. But if you want to, I say go for it! thank you for reading!
