This week I am reading the second book in the familiars series. It's called The Familiars Secrets of the Crown. The authors are Adam Jay Epstein and Andrew Jacobson. So far I like this book because its very interesting and its detailed, and whenever I put it down I always want to read more!
I think Adventure, mystery, quick thinking, and magic are the themes so far for this book. Mystery is a theme because *SPOILER ALERT!!!* At the beginning of the book there is a problem where no wizard/ which... can cast any spell, only familiars can, and they don't know how that happened so it's a mystery. Also there is an attack of these bird creatures so they need quick thinking to stop them. *SPOILER ALERT DONE!!!* Adventure and magic are themes because its about there adventures to find Paksahara and stop her, and they use lots of magic along the way. *SPOILER ALERT!!!* Paksahara is a Hare which used to be the Queen's familiar, except After Paksahara turned evil the hare ran away, and they don't know where she is now.

My connection is in the book the 3 loyals, 3 familiars, and their teacher are attacked by multiple bird/ creature things, and it reminds me of another book I read where 3 dragons attacked the characters and tried to kill them. It is also similar because they had to use magic to stop them as well.
My transformed thoughts are first I thought that Paksahara was good and the Queen was evil but I realized that it's actually the opposite of that!
