Blog #5

                           The Boundless

 For my blog #5, I decided to do The Boundless. By Kenneth Oppel. I chose  this book because when Kenneth Oppel came to our school to present his new published book ,which is Boundless, and when Kenneth explained a little bit of the book and scenes in the book, I knew what I had to do next, I HAD TO READ THAT BOOK!!!!!! It sounded amazing and scary and has adventure in it, I just fell in love with it when Kenneth Oppel was talking about it. And now since I have finished reading Boundless, thats why Im doing my last blog on it!

My connection in this book is Text to self. When Will *SPOILER ALERT* was  tricked by Mackie and he thought Mackie was helping him but actually leading him into Brogan because they both want the key to Cornelius Van Horne's funeral car because he is very rich and there might be some valueble stuff in his Funerral car. so they were working as a team a long with other brakeman, but in this  case, it was only Mackie and Brogan, and was Will trapped in between them! *SPOILER ALERT OVER*I can connect to that when I was playing Cops and robbers in school and I decided to climb a tree so no one would see me. When I was in the tree I saw a cop come and was looking around for robbers and that was me!!! I was prying she couldn't see me and I shifted a little to the side and CRACK! I accidentally broke a branch and it hit the I ground, it didn't make much noise but she saw me and I was like...... NOOOO! there was no way I could jump off the tree, I could brake my leg, plus it was way too high. She started to climb the tree and was reaching to tag me but I dodged her arm and I kept climbing higher but I couldn't go any higher, eventually she tagged me and I was in jail. This is a connection between the book and me because when Will was trapped in between Mackie and Brogan, and I was trapped by the cop and couldn't climb any higher. Also, I think Will was really scared, worried, and surprised in a bad way. I also felt scared, but not much of worried and surprised, I was more of panicking and didn't know what to do.

I think the themes for this book are; Quick thinking, stealing, and muderers. I chose quick thinking because Will has to do lots of quick thinking, like I said before when he was trapped in between Mackie and Brogan, he had to do really quick thinking because he was about to get murdered if he didn't do anything because Mackie and Brogan will probably kill him if they get him. So he had to think quick to see what he could do and when he decied to spray *SPOILER ALERT* sasquatch urine in Brogans face that was really quick thinking, it was also smart. Another time when there was quick thinking in thiss book is when Mr. Dorian decided to take the bullets out of Brogans gun, that was quick thinking because he could of killed him and also 

My transformed thoughts are that when Will got "hypnotized by the Hag and was in the mud and was pulled under, I thought that will would die for sure, *SPOILER ALERT*but I was wrong. Another transformed thought I had when I was reading Boundless is when Will gets a hold on the end of the train and needs to get all the way to the front, but first, he enters the red thing at the end of the train and there is Mackie and Paul Chan. And when they helped Will and gave him a place to sleep for a little bit and said that they will help him, I actually thought they would help them and that they were nice. But as soon as it says that Brogan and Mackie were a team, I realized I was all wrong and that they tricked Will.*SPOILER ALERT OVER*   

I think Boundless was a great book that counldn't make you put it down and it just got better and better every chapter you read. I defiantly recommend for you to read this book if you don't have a copy of it and maybe get it out of the Library because this is a awesome book and I hope you will love it too when you read it! :)
