Oliver Neubert
In this book, Chantel a lonely castle girl, sets off on an adventure to find one of four magical items to destroy the Evil One for once and for all. Along the way she meets a mouse who can transform into a mighty warrior, a winged one and a fox bat. In this book Mother Nature is getting weaker because darkness in flooding the lands and she can't stop it. So, she sends Owl (Her guardian) a message that Chantel has become of age to defeat the darkness. Why her? You will have to read to find out.
A connection I made with the book was when Chantel and her friends where hiking through the mountains in the deep snow. It reminded me of when in The Lord of the Rings Frodo,Sam,Marian,Pippen,Gandalf and the rest of the gang are trudging through the mountains in n deep snow.
The themes of the book are Quests because Chantel has to go on her first quest, Friendship because she has to rely on friends to help her through hard times and hunting because The Snow walker (EVIL) tries to hunt down Chantel.
My transformed thought was that I thought the book was going to be really boring and a take off of legend of Excalliber and King Arthur and all that stuff, but really it was a lot different. I'm glad I liked it because they have more books!! SPOILER ALERT At the end of the book it says: Honest Promises were spoken, and solemn oaths were sworn. Those who were present eighty-five moon crossings ago thought they could trust each other, but they were wrong.Everyone is susceptible to being hurt and losing themselves to the Darkness-even the last descendent, the Princess of Freedom. From The Book of Erebus Who is the Princess of freedom? You're going to have to read to find out.
Thanks for reading my (last?) blog. I hope you enjoyed it, oh, and look out for the other books in the series at Kids Books but you have to read the first one first. Thanks again bye!
⬆Oh sure, everyone's trudging but YOU.
